“No coffee for bitcoin”: Starbucks will not directly accept BTC payments
Contrary to reports in many media, Starbucks has stated that he will not directly accept bitcoin payments in their coffee shops.
As we previously reported, Starbucks is part of a new cryptocurrency agreement with Microsoft and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), called “Bakkt”, adjustable platform on wall street, which could significantly accelerate the widespread adoption of digital currencies such as bitcoin or ether.
Major media began to spread the news with headlines like: “the New partnership with Microsoft, Starbucks allows customers to pay for coffee using bitcoin,” implying that the Seattle company will begin to accept cryptocurrency payments.
However, Starbucks just denied such reports, explaining that he will not directly take BTC, but it will help the customers to convert their cryptocurrency into dollars before buying.
