Financial giant SBI launches Blockchain-application for payment together with Ripple




The application for payments on the basis of the Ripple, MoneyTap, will now be implemented, according to an official message on Twitter. Focused on the consumer of the service has been developed together with the company Ripple and Japanese giant financial service SBI Holdings.

Reportedly, MoneyTap will use blockchain-solution xCurrent Ripple to ensure the transferability of interbank transfers in real time. The account holders of the three Japanese banks-participants – SBI Sumishin Net Bank, Suruga Bank, and Resona Bank will be able to send money using the mobile app, which is compatible with iOS and Android devices.

After registration, users reportedly will only need their cell phone numbers or QR code to complete transactions in Japanese yen or foreign currency without a fee. The payment system will be protected using built-in security technologies such as biometrics authentication system login that use fingerprint scanning.
