Technology giant Google intends to update its advertising policy in October, allowing some cryptocurrency companies to publish ads on the platform.
According to an official statement since October giant was allowed cryptocurrency exchanges to advertise on its platform, Google Adwords, focusing on the audience in the United States and Japan. The statement says:
“Advertisers must be certified for specific countries in which to display their ads. They will be able to apply for certification after policy will come into force in October”.
This decision followed the announcement in March that everything associated with the cryptocurrency business will be prohibited from buying advertising in Google Adwords.
To justify its ban on such advertising, the company said that it protects its customers from counterfeit offers, including but not limited to, “the initial offering of coins (ICO), cryptocurrency exchanges, wallets and cryptocurrency trading”.
