IBM and Alibaba is the leader in the number blockchain.
The American Corporation IBM and Chinese Internet giant Alibaba to lead in the number of issued patents related to blockchain technology.
The study was conducted by the media company iPR Daily on the basis of the patent databases of the USA, China, South Korea, Japan, Europe, and the world intellectual property organization.
According to the report, the first line in the ranking of Alibaba – the company has decorated 90 patent applications. Second place belongs to IBM with 89 applications. In third place is Mastercard (80 patents), the fourth – financial conglomerate Bank of America (53 blockchain project).
The top five leaders in the field of blockchain patents held by the people’s Bank of China (PBoC), which owns 44 of the patent application. They Bank describes decisions issued by PBoC for the cryptocurrency. In June it became known that the laboratory of digital currency the Chinese Central Bank issued 40 patents within 12 months.
In the list of iPR Daily also includes companies that have issued at least 20 applications in the field of blockchain, including Bitmain, Tencent, Accenture, Visa, Google, Sony, Intel, Ping An Insurance.
It is noteworthy that some of these companies have moved from research and development to the actual exploitation of the technology. For example, recently, Alibaba held the first international payment using blockchain technology.
