JD.com opens the Institute for the development of the construction of “smart cities” based on the blockchain and AI


Chinese e-Commerce giant JD Finance opens research Institute “Smart City” in Nanjing for the development of “smart cities” based on artificial intelligence technology (AI) and the blockchain.

Jingdong Group (JD.com) is a Chinese company that focuses on implementing latest technology in the field of electronic Commerce, logistics and Finance. With the new Institute JD.com plans to send forces to study and develop the construction of “smart cities”.

The headquarters of the company in Nanjing, which plans to serve the entire East China, will work to reduce costs in the industry and improving efficiency. In a press release said that the main objectives of the company are enhanced intelligent solutions in the field of urban environment, transportation, planning, energy, trade, security, health and other services.

JD.com already used the technology of distributed registries in various areas of its business, including logistics, supply chain management and the issue of securities.

In August JD.com also announced the launch of their new product called JD Blockchain Open Platform, which offers customers a platform to create, host and promote their own decentralized applications (DApps).

The opening of a new payment system was made possible through cooperation of the Department of Finance with the Smart government initiative, Dubai Office (SDO).
