NEM Foundation launches blockchain hub in Melbourne


In Melbourne opened a new blockchain hub through which community representatives will be promoting NEM and explore the blockchain and cryptocurrency.

The center will organize educational programs and activities of the blockchain. In addition, it will function as a business incubator and support center for startups based on the NEM blockchain.

The movement of the New economy (New Economy Movement, NEM) was launched in 2015 and provides a platform for implementing new ideas blockchain. Currency platforms, XEM significantly increased in price after it began to use commercial blockchain Mijin. The NEM project is now engaged in the promotion of block-grants and other cash contributions.

Unit Manager NEM Foundation in Australia and New Zealand, Gian Chan (Chan Jian) said that the launch of blockchain-hub in Melbourne is very clearly demonstrates the focus of the NEM to support innovation in Australia and other countries. According to Chan, at present, the NEM is present in 40 different countries. Activity in Australia began after the presentation of the project on the event FinTech Australia Intersekt last year.

In 2016, the government of the Australian state of Victoria launched a program to support start-UPS LaunchVic. Program Director Kate Cornick (Cornick Kate) took the news about the opening of a new blockchain hub with enthusiasm:

“The blockchain is growing and developing technology, and in LaunchVic happy to welcome Foundation in the centre of the Victorian Innovation Hub. Our center needs to evolve into a diversified complex that enables interaction and development of more than 360 Australian startups, accelerators and incubators”.

The representatives of the NEM has also announced that are committed to working with Australian companies in the future plan to spend a few ICO.
