The Japanese company will release the payment program for smartphone using blockchain project of San Francisco
A payment app for iOS and Android based on the technology of Ripple will launch a Japanese financial holding SBI, writes CoinDesk. The exact launch date of the program is not called, it may appear this fall in three banks of Japan.
The head of the SBI Ripple Asia, a joint venture Ripple and SBI, Takashi Okita, on Wednesday published a link to a website application MoneyTap. Previously, the organization reported that the project is supported by Japanese banking consortium. First and foremost, access to the service will be customers of SBI Sumishin Net Bank, Suruga Bank, and Resona Bank.
The new program will allow users to transfer funds within the country using a smartphone and QR codes. In April a similar service in Spain, UK, Brazil and Poland launched a Bank Santander.
In recent days market average rate Ripple rose by 4%. The token has risen to $0,281. During this same time, the price of Ethereum increased by 13%, the cost of bitcoin rose 2%.
