Taiwan hospital launches blockchain platform




In the framework of the efforts on consolidation policy the hierarchical medical system in the government hospital of Medical University, Taipei presented a blockchain platform designed to promote medical documentation.

Platform Healthchain Healthcare will be used to improve services for patients and integrates individual healthcare network that people could access their medical records with relative ease, according to a report by Taipei Times.

The project involved the cooperation of more than 100 clinics at the community level and used the blockchain technology to solve the “General problem areas” in healthcare. These include data transfer between medical institutions, the personal portals for patients and physicians, says the hospital.

“The use of smart contracts, hospitals and clinics can easily and safely request and share patient records,” reads the report.
